Mat Bishop
CEO
Mat Bishop is the Chief Executive Officer for Cayman Distributors Group (CDG) and its subordinate entities Cayman Distributors Ltd and Blackbeard’s Trading Company Ltd. Mat has a wealth of business management experience in multiple European, Asian, Caribbean and American markets.
Born and raised in New Zealand, Mat completed a post-graduate degree in Political Science from the University of Otago. He spent several years in the UK working primarily in the telecoms industry before moving to the Cayman Islands with his Wife in 2003.
In 2006 Mat joined the venture capital wing of the Dart group - Active Capital Ltd, and oversaw the purchase of Cayman Distributors Ltd, its subsequent amalgamation with Blackbeard’s, and the 2010 acquisition of Big Daddy’s Ltd. Since 2007 Mat has had day to day management responsibility for CDG - a company that has grown to be one of the leading players in the Cayman Islands alcoholic beverage industry. Mat lives in George Town with his wife Kim and their three young children.
Belinda Taylor
Financial Controller
Belinda joined Cayman Distributors in 2019 bringing with her an expanse of financial expertise and experience. Belinda most recently served as CFO of New Zealand’s oldest winery, Mission Estate, with previous tenures in senior financial roles in the Horticulture, Manufacturing and Financial services industries, having qualified as a chartered accountant while being an Auditor with KPMG.
Belinda first came to the Cayman Islands in November 2008, for a five-year stint as the Business Manager for Custodial Services for Deutsche Bank Cayman, and, having missed Cayman dearly, returned with her young family in 2019.
Alex McClenaghan
General Manager
Alex has worked his way up in the company over the past 10 years from Sales Representative to Head of Sales and Marketing. Originally hailing from Canada, Alex started his Food and Beverage Career at a very young age, working in kitchens then moving up to tending Bar.
From there Alex excelled in Management Positions moving from Ontario to Vancouver on the West Coast, running Bars and world class Nightclubs. The Cayman Islands called in 2006 where his Bar, Restaurant and Nightclub Management experience greatly assisted his ability to perform and build brands in the local market.
Jodie Ehrhart
Head of Operations
Jodie joined Cayman Distributors in January 2007 as a wine sales associate. She was instrumental in growing the company’s wine portfolio and took over as Wine Sales manager in 2009. During the last 7 years Jodie has developed her knowledge and expertise within the wholesale side of the business and now heads the operations department.
Jodie is originally from the south of England, where she trained as a pastry chef. After working at some
famous establishments including Number 10 Downing Street and on The Orient Express train, she traveled the world extensively to work and explore. Jodie moved to Cayman in 1998 and brings a wealth of knowledge to Cayman Distributors as she has worked in and around the hospitality industry her entire life.
Helen Wong
Retail Manager
Originally from the Uk, Helen has 36 years retail experience. Starting off in the high street stores and progressed to London to be part of the re-fit team all for an internationally renowned pharmaceutical retailer. Helen moved to their Duty-Free Locations in Heathrow airport and then onboard the cruise ships before moving to Cayman in 2002. She continued her career in Retail working at Owen Roberts International Airport, Duty-Free in George Town and now manages all Blackbeards Liquor Stores.
